Data Analyst

Your mission

Data, both quantitative and qualitative, is an essential building block of the services and solutions we provide for our clients. Increasingly, our clients express and see the need to measure, monitor and report on circularity. Yet, the how and what are not as clear and standardised as for example on climate and GHG. To that end, we are seeking an ambitious and experienced individual to join our young and ambitious consulting firm as an experienced Data Analyst. In this combined strategic and hands-on role, you will help build a team of skilled data analysts to develop data-driven insights and solutions for our clients. Your responsibilities will include developing and overseeing the end-to-end data analysis process, from data collection and cleaning to analytics and reporting. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their business objectives and translate them into analytical strategies. Additionally, you will help us develop new methodologies and service offerings in the young field of business intelligence on circular economy performance, with the opportunity to join leading global initiatives and partnerships on framework development and standard setting.  

Your profile

We would like to invite you to apply for this position if you have: 

  • You have 3-5 years of relevant experience  
  • An educational background in preferably Industrial ecology, environmental analysis or a similar field 
  • Experience in as a data analyst in, or affinity with working in, a commercial environment 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Material Flow Accounting (MFA) and related methodologies 
  • Knowledge and understanding of upcoming legislation such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD, CSDD, Taxonomy) 
  • The ability to work on and apply standards and frameworks such as SBTn, LEAP, GRI and/or CTI 
  • Experience with applying or working with technical data analyst tools such as programming language, database tools, data visualisation and/or other business intelligence solutions (e.g. Python, PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau) 
  • Leadership skills that allow you to support and advise other data analysts in the execution of their work 
  • A hands-on mentality and willingness to support the execution of projects when needed 
  • The ability to show flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment 
  • A positive attitude and a team player mentality 
  • You have excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; 

Nice to have 

  • Experience in a business environment to work with data, develop KPIs and dashboards 
  • Ability to understand business requirements and identify relevant data analyses to provide insights that meet business needs. 

Why us?

This is a full-time position (32-40 hours per week, initially a 1-year contract) based in the Netherlands, with our office conveniently located in central Amsterdam. Candidates should be prepared to work primarily from our office and be legally authorised to work in the Netherlands. Salary is competitive, keeping in mind we are an impact-first, startup organisation, based in Amsterdam.
