About Marketplace
Marketplace is responsible for the overall traveler experience. They truly understand traveler behavior across multiple verticals and are responsible to define and achieve our product vision.
The Marketplace Business Unit drives travelers into the right vertical funnel at the right time and will increase connected trip (multi-vertical) transactions as well as traveler loyalty through Genius. Marketplace leads the common parts of our website and app, provides product capabilities that are required across BUs and sets common product standards.
Profile Director of Software Engineering, Data - Marketplace
The Data organization is central to our Connected Trip strategy as its role is to gather, analyze, and interpret data to gain a deep understanding of our travelers and their behaviors including experimentation, preferences, needs and expectations. These insights inform, validate & steer the traveler product vision and traveler interventions. The key capabilities owned by this organization:
Data Models and Intent Modelling
Customer intent and key canonical data models to enable strong insights, decision making and alignment across our Connected Trip vision.
Experimentation Platform
Our experimentation platform is industry leading comprehensively covering the entire experimentation lifecycle from design, metric calculation, statistical analysis right through to launch. Experimentation scenarios are comprehensive and vast across our global product estate for example web, app, personalisation, segmentation, backend services and AI interactions patterns.
Data Engineering
Partner with tracks and teams across Booking to ensuring that our operational data is ingested into the right models, data sets with clear lineage and ownership
We are looking for a technology leader to lead Data from an Engineering perspective, partnering with the Data and Product leaders to deliver on our ambition for the Connected Trip. The role will need to evolve our Experimentation platform to the next generation and be focused on Software Engineering related to data, analytics, models, AI and ingestion.
