The Concept Development & Experimentation team supports the Business Development Team in their objective to deliver premium engineering solutions. These solutions contribute to an ambitious project to offer our client end-to-end connectivity from large command posts to the tactical edge where no civilian communication means exists. 

Engineer Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E)

About the Job

THALES CD&E engineer adds technical expertise to the CD&E team. This team (3fte) is expanding and covers expertise like Enterprise Architectures, Radio Communication, Cloud, 5G, Computing and Security. The Thales CD&E teams works in an integrated CD&E team with contributors from of Thales, the customer and other partners. The integrated team frontloads the actual project with experiments to close knowledge gaps and proof feasibility. The team is able to this because the team has technical knowledge on the required specialties and because they are supported by the Thales group with specialists and transfer of knowledge.

Profile

You graduated with a Master of Engineering or Computer Science or in University, and you have significant experience in architecture and engineering systems. Experience in military communication systems is a plus. You are a technical specialist willing to engage international teams with collaborative work and challenging approaches. You are responsible and show a great sense of initiative. You like to be involved with the customer. You have good communication and relationship skills.

Competencies

You are familiar with a wide range of technologies. You cover at least Computer and Networking hardware (preferably Cisco) and you are also familiar with constraint networks protocols. You have of also knowledge of embedded systems.

You are able to work on multiple activities con-currently and effectively self-manage (autonomy). Quick understanding of complex (software) products and the ability to configure and integrate multiple products in a proof of concepts demonstration and/or System Integration Lab to show and test different capabilities/concepts. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, Proven problem solving and analytic skills with a track record of successful outcomes, Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science discipline or any other relevant fields, with 5 years of relevant experience. The candidate has an in-depth understanding of network security. The candidate shall be able to have a security clearance up to NATO SECRET. For this role the Dutch language is highly preferred.
