For our Avnet Abacus Team in Netherlands (Breda) we are looking for:

Field Application Engineer (m/f/x)

This role is responsible for providing technical advice and to support our customers by new designs with selecting the right technologies and components. You advice our customers with the best fit solution & electronic components (passive, connectors, electromechanical, power, IoT related products and Embedded products) and also inform them about the latest technologies.

Your Role & Responsibilities as a Field Application Engineer:

• Achieve demand creation goals for area / technology (connectors & sensors)                
• Identify and support best technical and economical solution/project at assigned customers     
• Develop and maintain strong relationship with development departments at assigned accounts.
• Identify demand creation opportunities, either together with Sales or independently in new and existing customers.                                             
• Provide general technical customer support.                                         
• Connect to and apply supplier application engineering resources in order to benefit from supplier specialized expertise.                                         
• Joint responsibility with Account Manager for revenue and margin improvement for a defined sales area.                                                  
• Develop and maintain excellent understanding of technology trends relevant to own assignment and account base to increase competency in advising best technical solutions.                       
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, especially in the supplier technical community.              
• Assist / advise Field Sales and Inside Sales on technical issues with components        

Your Profile:

• Bachelor or Master in Electronic Engineering or similar
• 3+ years experience, preferably in electronic industry.  Experience in consulting clients / customers on technical solutions is considered an asset.
• Strong technical knowledge in area of responsibility                
• Ability to interact professionally internally, with suppliers and customers
• Ability to present and communicate professionally on complex technical problems                                                                       
• Ability to work pro-actively in an organized and engaged manner but also with a level of creativity                                                                             
• Goal-oriented, self-driven, flexible                                                           
• Good English and Dutch language skills (verbally and in writing)                          
• Ability to work in a team environment but also independently
• Ability to establish and maintain clear priorities in a heavily interrupt driven environment
