Job Description
Our Engineers are the heart of ING. We solve some of the hardest problems. Constantly experimenting and improving of both the way of working and the engineering skills. You will be working within the Savings domain. The department is working in a DevOps manner, where Scrum/Agile method and Continuous Delivery practices are very important. As a Dev Engineer you’ll be responsible for design, build, test and deploy new features. We release several times per week.
Department
You will be working in the Tribe Daily Banking / Savings area. We build the customer experience for all ING clients related to Savings products. This entails the front-end build in polymer / angular js and the back-end which is built in Java and Tibco. We run what we build. Therefore all engineers are also part of the stand-by pool. On average days we handle the load of 1900 transactions per second.
Who are you?
You are a driven IT specialist with excellent analytical, technical and programming are an good Dev Engineer and have a minimum 5 years’ experience in Java developing. You are substantively strong and you aim to achieve the best in your work by getting concrete results. You understand better than anyone what the needs and wishes of your (internal) customers in the field of IT and moreover you are a true team player. You are also able to coach colleagues and give them constructive feedback.
Stack and tooling
In our stack we use Java, Kotlin, Lith , RESTFUL API’s, TOMCAT, NGINX, Cloud, Oracle, and a bunch of other technologies. Although we would like that you have a working knowledge of everything we use, we find it important that we know you are flexible and keen on learning new stuff.
Your profile
Your key competencies: excellent team player, persistent, service oriented, customer centric, eager to learn.
6 + years of software engineering experience with hands-on front-end and back-end development .
Extensive experience in developing f ront - end web applications with JavaScript (ES6), HTML, and CSS.
Experience in front-end design patterns and architecture.
Understanding of the concept of web components
Experience with litHTML and litElement is considered a big plus
Knowledge of continues integration tooling
Flexible with respect to working pattern/ hours.
An excellent spoken and written command of English
