The Advertising Technology (“Ad-Tech”) team sits within the Growth Marketing organization, working directly with our paid social advertising teams. We build solutions to enable stakeholders to grow their customer activation, retention and return on ad spend, whilst protecting the brand experience of our customers.

Role Description:

We are constantly evolving and adapting our systems to be able to use the best technology to solve our challenges. Working on our team you will be exposed to a diverse set of technologies including; Perl, Java, Python, MySql, Kafka, Kubernetes, Hadoop, BigQuery, AWS, ElasticSearch and more. You will apply these technologies to solve the problems on a highly scaled platform used to book more than a million room nights a day in a highly reliable way, contributing to our overall goal to make it easier for everyone to experience the world.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Working in collaboration with our online advertising partners, such as Facebook and Google, in order to implement new features and improve existing ones
  • Directly impacting Booking online ads, marketing investment, and return on investment
  • Rapidly developing next-generation scalable, flexible, and high-performance distributed systems and services with end-to-end ownership
  • Collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver on business objectives
  • Mentoring and growing other software developers
  • Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years software development experience.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with one or more server-side programming languages
  • Experience building interactive front-end web UIs with HTML, CSS and modern web development frameworks, like React.
  • Experience with distributed systems and solid understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices
  • Excellent communication; written and spoken and experience working with non-technical stakeholders
  • Previous experience with marketing systems (such as automatic bidding, dynamic ads, etc) is a significant advantage
  • Previous experience with cloud platforms like AWS is a plus
