As an Ops Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of monitoring, managing, testing, deploying, and operating applications. You observe their technical behavior and performance across all facets. Your proactive approach will involve identifying and addressing operational issues while spearheading the ongoing enhancement of deployment automation through our Azure pipelines.

We build a team of elite Ops Engineers prepared to support critical internet-facing applications for one of the world's largest Global Banks. Your Daily Operations

As a vital member of our team, you'll be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Implementation of production changes: implement changes to production systems outside of office hours, adhering to best practices and minimizing risks to operations.
  • Test environment maintenance: contribute to the upkeep of test environments, ensuring they remain reliable and conducive to effective testing and development activities.
  • Third-line incident and problem solving: utilize your expertise to swiftly address and resolve third-line incidents and problems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Disaster Recovery planning and management: lead the planning, testing and management of Disaster Recovery (DR) runbooks, ensuring the resilience of our systems.
  • Production reporting: gather relevant data and generate accurate production reports detailing availability, reliability, performance, and capacity metrics.
  • Management of IT key controls: play a pivotal role in maintaining IT key controls, ensuring compliance by collecting and providing necessary evidence to auditors.
  • Stand-by availability: demonstrate flexibility by being on stand-by outside of regular office hours, ready to address any urgent matters that may arise.
  • Your skills and competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of software development and deployment processes within an Agile, Scrum, and DevOps framework.
  • Hands-on experience and a thorough understanding of continuous delivery, deployment tools, and pipelines, including proficiency with Azure Pipelines & DevOps, Ansible, and Docker.
  • Proficiency in Linux (specifically RedHat) and networking, coupled with a strong understanding of system administration.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus, demonstrating the ability to utilize these tools effectively for performance analysis and optimization.
  • An automation mindset, with a demonstrated ability to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes.
  • Proven experience in supporting web-based applications, resolving incidents, and providing third-line support, showcasing your troubleshooting skills and commitment to maintaining system integrity.
  • A solid understanding of web security principles and best practices, ensuring the implementation of robust security measures within our systems.
  • A keen interest and forward-thinking vision regarding recent trends in software development and technology, enabling you to anticipate and adapt to industry advancements effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and a strong conceptual and architectural understanding, coupled with the ability to rapidly grasp and apply new technical concepts.
  • Experience working in an international environment, demonstrating cultural awareness and effective communication skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
