Let's paint a picture of the role

Design, develop, test, and implement Coupa solutions through changes and projects in line with global Information Technology (IT) and security guidelines, to support company business requirements to create company value.

Understand customer needs and validate solutions – Product Owner is the internal voice of the customer and works with customer to constantly understand and communicate their needs and participate in the validation of the proposed solutions. Identifies changes to the customer environment and technology trends that could potentially impact the type, level or utilization of the Coupa service provided. With input from architects, customers, engineers and other stakeholders builds, prunes, prioritizes and maintains the team backlog. Application development/ configuration is released in a controlled manner and with quality, through test procedures and release management. Ensure the application is relevant to the environment, stakeholders and issues your organization is dealing with. Establishing and maintaining a constructive relationship between the IT operations team and the customer based on understanding the customer and their business drivers.

The IT Product Owner Coupa in Application Delivery is responsible for design and Implementation of requirements as per Architectural and Security guidelines. This is done through projects or changes. This requires high quality Stories (change specifications) and projects changes which will allow Engineers and/or Developers to translate into configuration. The IT Product Owner sees to properly review and approve stories/project changes and has an active role monitoring status, (unit)testing and change management once developed, including sign-off.

The Functional Engineer has an active role in the preparation and execution of the actual changes together with our external partner.
On request, a Functional Engineer can be asked to be involved in solving urgent high priority incidents and plays a role in process improvements alongside with business.

Responsibilities

Story specification
Translate business requirements into clear detailed designs. Own and develop high quality Stories
(change specifications) and project changes for Engineers and External Consultants to then translate
into config and a proposal on a change implementation.

Development & delivery
Guide, coordinate and oversee the preparation and execution and implementation of the (project)
changes. Review, Approve and control the implementation system changes Solutions are built according to the Architectural and Security principles and changes are timely & adequately prepared & documented.

Perform impact analysis on systems that integrate with Coupa (eg SAP, Sailpoint, Successfactors). Ensure any impact is addressed.

This role may also participate in development and configuration activities.

Coupa cloud release impact analyses
- Assessing and conducting impact analysis on Coupa releases, including testing of newly introduced features, with an emphasis on the technical and business impacts.
- Provide the Coupa and Middleware teams with guidance on integration-related features and their impact.
- Regular alignment with key account and support management of solution providers (key = Coupa) on overall delivery, future release planning and strategy
- Serve as point of contact for Coupa as vendor

Support for internal and external audit
- Assisting the Internal Risk and Control team with Coupa solution design information requests and participating in IT audit sessions
- Participating in and supporting the Sourcing and Procurement business team's external audit by delivering appropriate SOC reports, bridge letters, and Coupa solution design.

Testing
Own testing of changes or stories, and/or actively oversee testing by business. Examine test outcomes, sign off for unit testing and coordinate business sign off for Application Delivery related testing.

Incident management
Assist operational support team in incident resolution. Perform functional or technical problem analysis in case of incidents or issues as needed depending on the severity of the problem. Perform root cause analysis, document these and share findings. 

Process management and improvement
Monitor, guard, test and analyze that the use of Coupa regarding the functional and performance aspects are in line with the agreed performance indicators, and if necessary, take measures. Actively contribute to process improvement. Has a good view of the technical state of the application (technical debt) and regularly discuss and works together with the Architects to develop plans to resolve the technical debt.

Project support
Support a project manager by taking ownership of specific project deliverables (specifications, config,
testing, etc.). Define, plan, manage and participate in assigned project deliverables from the own
functional or technical domain, in accordance with the IT project manager and involved business
project owners.

What do you need to have to be successful in this role?

Minimum of 5 years of experience as IT consultant in the following areas:

• Minimum 1 year experience as Coupa support engineer and/or 1 full cycle of Coupa implementation experience as configurator 
• Minimum 5 years experience as engineer in sourcing and procurement domain
• Thorough understanding of Coupa central procurement platform, Supplier information management (SIM), Coupa contract life cycle management (CLM) , Coupa Sourcing
• Understanding of Coupa Sourcing Optimization module is plus
• Understanding of Coupa integrations with ERP (eg SAP) is plus
• Understanding of data analytics
• Certification in Coupa central procurement platform
• Fluent in English, verbally and in writing
