As part of the MEMS foundry Maintenance Engineering team, you will work on equipment availability of a wide range of high-tech manufacturing equipment used for amongst others: Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Plasma Enhanced Vapor Deposition (PECVD), Dry Etch (Plasma Etching), High Temperature processing, Wet Etch, Wafer Bonding, Lithography and Metrology. Our customers are both internal Philips businesses & external customers. Our products find their use in a broad range of high-tech applications that range from sensors in your smartphone and the ever increasing and accelerating Internet of Things applications to safety components in your car electronics, to high-tech biomedical innovations that improve our lives and the lives of our loved ones.

You are responsible for:

Keeping the high-tech semicon process equipment in the Mems Foundry in optimal condition. You will be working on a broad range of high-tech equipment in one of our specialized technology clusters:

The Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) & Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition PE(CVD) cluster.

Besides your dedicated work in this PVD/PECVD cluster, you will closely co-operate with your department colleagues who cover the other clusters.

  • Dry Etching /Plasma Etching
  • Lithography, Wet Etching Wafer Bonding
  • Furnaces (high temperature, oxidation, annealing)
  • Metrology.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for:

  • The equipment uptime and creating / improving maintenance plans and procedures.
  • Performing the planned and unplanned maintenance, including root cause analysis, maintenance planning, evaluation, documentation and continuous improvements.
  • Acting pro-actively on possible malfunction of equipment and making sure that used spare parts and consumables are re-ordered.
  • Staying in close contact with equipment owners and operations technicians before, during and after maintenance for an optimal planned and executed maintenance.
  • Working in a safe way for the team, the equipment and the environment.
  • Joining crash teams for complicated machine/process failures and joining Kaizen improvement teams.

Your Team:

The Maintenance engineer MEMS reports to the Manager Equipment & Maintenance Engineering in business unit MEMS & Micro devices within Philips Engineering Solutions.

You will be part of the MEMS maintenance group and will land in a job grade 45 - 50 depending on your experiences. This very experienced team is responsible for the availability and uptime of the process equipment that is used in the development and production processes of MEMS & Micro devices.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • MBO certified in a technical discipline relevant to the industry (electronics, mechatronics, physics, materials science, mechanics, chemical engineering)
  • Preferably several years of experience as maintenance engineer in a production environment and/or as a service engineer performing diverse and complex root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Experience with MEMS and/or semiconductor manufacturing is a strong pro.
  • No 9-5 mentality. Willingness to work in evenings or the weekend in case of an occasional emergency/urgency.
  • Eager to learn the technical details of all equipment.
  • Well skilled to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • (Basic) knowledge of (computer) control systems, PLC’s, networks.
  • Willing to work in a clean-room environment
