Our Offshore Energy division supports sustainable energy solutions such as wind energy as well as traditional fossil facilities. We’re involved in the entire journey from developing and transporting to maintaining and decommissioning these facilities.

    Job Description

    Make your mark as Operations Engineer at Boskalis Offshore Energy - Marine Services by being the linking pin between project preparation and project execution.

    Using your expertise and experience in maritime projects, you will independently work on various aspects of a project. You will take care of the high level mooring, stability and weight analyses, deal with towing and different installation manuals, manage aspects like safety, planning, procurement and permits and maintain contacts with local authorities, to ensure that high-quality projects can be realized within the agreed requirements. Being part of a project team you know how to communicate efficiently on different levels to achieve your goals. Some of the projects this team has worked on, are the and the in El Salvador.

    Your responsibilities as Operations Engineer are: 

  • Engineering method statements into operational solutions, so that the project can be realized efficiently and effectively in accordance with the contractual agreements (safety, quality, planning and budget).
  • Liaise with all involved departments (project- and tender-support, operations, SHE-Q, fleet-management, procurement, controlling etc.) to ensure that the right working methods have been selected and that manpower and equipment are available when needed.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans;
  • Act as the key interface towards clients for all non-commercial topics;
  • Identify and report deviations from the contract and take appropriate measures when needed.
  • Your qualities and experience as Operations Engineer are: 

  • Up to 4 years of relevant working experience in an international, dynamic project environment;
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in offshore/marine technology or naval architecture. Knowledge of Rhino or AutoCAD is a preference;
  • A team player mentality;
  • Willingness to travel globally (approx. 4 times a year);
  • Good communication skills and a good command of written and spoken English.

  • Your team: You will work in a team of 15 direct colleagues (tender, project and operations engineers) in Boskalis Offshore Energy – Marine Services business unit.
  • Where you will work: For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly in the office and partly at home.
  • Full/part-time job: The position of Operations Engineer is a full-time (40 hours a week) job with period requirements to travel offshore.
