Offshore Engineer Geophysics

Job Description

Fugro Netherlands Marine is looking for an Offshore Engineer to join our Geophysical Survey team offshore on our vessels. In this exciting role you work worldwide assisting with offshore survey, inspection and positioning tasks. As an Offshore Engineer you not only set up, test, operate and maintain a variety of market-leading survey and positioning systems, but also collect, arrange and present results from various sensors across the globe.

Your role

  • You set up, interface, test, maintain, calibrate and operate acquisition sensors;

  • You collect, collate and present results from various acquisition sensors;

  • You maintain comprehensive data acquisition logs and monitor data quality to ensure the survey specification is achieved;

  • You are responsible for the preparation of reports including equipment damage/fault reports;

  • You actively develop and maintain experience with acquisition software, survey techniques and skills across various offshore disciplines.

  • You will work on systems including:

    Ultra-High Resolution Seismic spreads and HV power supplies

    Remote operated towed vehicles (EIVA Scanfish)

    Side Scan Sonars and Multibeam echo sounders

    Marine Magnetometers

    GNSS positioning systems

    USVs and UAVs

  • Your track record

  • You have BSc. / HND or equivalent in a relevant electronics/electrical/IT related discipline;

  • You have previous offshore experience on a variety of survey projects: geophysical, construction support, positioning, inspection, repair and/or maintenance surveys;

  • You are proficient in the set-up, calibration and commonly uses survey sensors as above and in the implementation of preventive maintenance systems;

  • You are a team player, have excellent social and communication skills and a good command of the English language (written and spoken);

  • You are available to go Offshore for a minimum of 180 days per year.
