As Optical Design Engineer in our Development andEngineering department, you will work in a multidisciplinaryproject (physics, mechanics, electronics, mechatronics,industrialization, supplier quality and software) that develops theIllumination part of the opticalcolumn.

Responsibilities

• Analyzingrequirements.
• Specifying and designing opticalmodules and their components in collaboration with otherdisciplines (mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, software,industrialization), suppliers, anddepartments.
• Providing algorithms for softwareengineering.
• Integrating, calibrating, andtesting the optical system.
• Troubleshooting,conducting root cause analysis, and designingsolutions.

Functie-eisen

• Master or PhD inApplied Physics or related
• Proficiency in Zemaxis a primary requirement for thisrole.
• Experience in optics and optical design,from specifications to qualification/integration, with hands-onexperience being essential.
• Ability to supportdevelopment using optical design verification tools (Zemax) anddata analysis tools (Matlab).
• Genuine interestin multidisciplinary module development, including considerationsfor Design for Excellence (DfX) aspects such as cost,serviceability, reliability, manufacturability, and supplierquality.
• Capability to design algorithms tosupport software calibration, qualification, anddiagnostics.
