At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.

We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Product Assurance Engineer to join the team. 
The successful applicant will support on product safety, quality, customer satisfaction and resonate with the GKN One Aerospace quality culture.

How You'll Contribute

  • Assure and verify product quality planning, realization and delivery activities are completed in accordance with requirements
  • Support Program Management/IPT teams, acting as first line POC for Customer and Governmental Quality Representatives, including relationship management, coordinating product buy off, audits, quality related enquires and issue resolution
  • Support Site/Group/Team leaders in the development and nurturing of the site Quality Culture
  • Provide quality related support and advice to the organisation for the development / improvement / maintenance of Product Safety and Quality awareness through feedback and training
  • Ensure customer, regulatory and GKN system, product and process requirements are identified, documented appropriately, understood and implemented through effective means of compliance, meeting interested parties’ needs
  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing) teams to ensure design specifications and production process capabilities are aligned and to define effective process controls and unambiguous product acceptance criteria to enable and ensure product safety and zero defect delivery
  • Support and assure responsive and effective problem resolution through Containment, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action and Verification of Effectiveness
  • Support and assure the identification, understanding and effective mitigation of product and process related risks and opportunities for improvement
  • What You'll Bring

    We're looking for someone that has strong skills in defining our organisations culture by setting a quality first tone, you'll have strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills and be able to build and maintain trust and effective internal and external working relationships.
    The ideal candidate will also be able to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams.

    In addition to this, you'll need the following skills & experience:

    Essential:

  • Technical expertise & experience in Aircraft Manufacture or a professional qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • Fluent in English language, verbal and written
  • Desirable:

  • Experience of managing and assuring Product Quality Assurance and Improvement in New Product / Process introduction (industrialisation) & existing Production Realisation
  • Experience of Quality in highly regulated industries
