Your road to success

Left or right, you are a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). You are the main facilitator of the ART events and processes and assists the teams in delivering value. The RTE communicates with stakeholders, escalates impediments, helps manage risk, ensures value delivery and drives relentless improvement. You focus on continuous improvement and adapting for the benefit of the ART. You can do this as release train engineer with full focus on:

  • work with the teams in the ART to prioritize features to be considered in a given PI planning cycle. This includes establishing and communicating the annual calendars for iterations and Planning Intervals (PI's), organizing and driving SAFe events, ART sync at every stage, system demos, workshops, and backlog refinement.
  • providing leadership as a coach/ consultant to teams and Scrum masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets. Drive the cross-team collaboration.
  • continuously exploring for developments to increase value and assess the agility level.
  • assisting the ART in communication and coordination with stakeholders and customers during feature definition of the product and its delivery.
  • summarizing the team PI objectives into ART PI objectives and make them transparent.
  • managing risks and dependencies, escalates impediments and helps in addressing critical bottlenecks.

What do you take with you as train release engineer for at least 38 of hours per week? Absolutely your creativity, analytical thinking and conflict management. You also have the drive to use your strong communication and negotiation skills – . being able to address both management and teams; (de)escalate conflicts and impediments, stakeholder communications etc. In addition, you have:

  • at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
  • proven experience as a RTE or similar role, leading large-scale Agile transformations and managing complex software projects.
  • a thorough understanding of Agile methodologies and practices (including SAFe/ Scrum/ Kanban) augmented by relevant certifications.
  • excellent leadership and facilitation skills to foster collaboration and provide direction, structure and guidance to teams and stakeholders.
  • exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • a professional proficiency in both Dutch and English.

  • gross yearly salary up to € 88.810,- (including holiday allowance and 13th month).
  • employee budget of € 830,- gross per month (this is used, for example, for a mobility scheme, extra salary, extra leave days or pension investment).
  • contribution-free pension.
  • potential bonus up to 10% of your annual salary including holiday allowance and 13th month (the bonus is 100% based on Mercedes-Benz company results).
  • thirteenth month.
  • holiday allowance of 8% and at least 26 vacation days.
