Senior Engineer Solar

As a  Senior Engineer Solar  you will be a trusted advisor, who provides advisory services to our customers and supports them to transition faster to a deeply decarbonized energy system. 

You will be involved in all phases of the solar PV project life cycle such as early development, merger and acquisition (M&A) of development portfolios, project financing, construction and acceptance, the operational phase and end of life.

You will use your networking skills to connect with professionals within the company as well as outside of DNV to share knowledge and experience and to understand the challenges of our customers. During your daily work you will identify opportunities, provide solutions for customers and bid for contracts. 

As a team player you are part of a local solar team and collaborate internationally with other solar professionals in DNV. Contribution to business development, project management and service development is an integral part of your role, where you will have the opportunity to improve services and initiate new services.

You will be involved in a selection of typical technical and commercial activities such as:

  • Assisting customers with procurement including tendering and contract negotiation 
  • Risk assessments for technical due diligence of pre-construction and operational projects, including data analysis documentation review contract review design and technology review energy production assessments
  • Technical inspections 
  • Construction progress monitoring and drawdown signoffs
  • Root cause analyses 
  • Market studies 
  • Bankability studies

  • To be a successful candidate you must have:

  • Previous experience in the solar sector, at least five years, preferable in consultancy or engineering companies
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in solar/ renewable energy, engineering, electric, statistics, atmospheric science, mathematics, physics or other relevant discipline
  • Experience in the operation of Solar PV Plants in European countries
  • Proficiency in English
  • Availability for short travels, across the country and internationally (travel 10% domestic + 10% international)
  • Good command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Valid Driving License.
  • These abilities will give you an advantage:

  • Knowledge of wind renewable energy.
  • Local language skills 
  • Good command of engineering and solar software (PVsyst, SolarFarmer, Python, Autocad).
