Supply Chain Engineer

Description

SCE is primarily responsible to ensure the project realization between ASML and our suppliers. Using your in-depth technical knowledge, analytic thinking, political antenna and excellent people skills, you work closely with suppliers to build up an intimate knowledge of their technological capabilities. Advise designers on manufacturability, logistic consequences of design choices and support “Modelshop office” with quote and ordering process.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Inform all relevant stakeholders on project sourcing status, if needed with backwards planning (Budget related: Spend and Delivery)
  • Ensure that not only parts quality, but also manufacturability and serviceability aspects are covered in the design phase.
  • New product introduction (NPI) and supplier selection with the team.
  • Make-buy decision on sourcing part(s) internal (in modelshop) or external
  • Communicate clearly on expected results in quality, logistics, technology and costs (QLTC) with designer and modelshop team
  • Deliverables that secure parts from suppliers in the ASML product generation process, such as:
  • Acceptance of the design and/or specification
  • Acceptance of qualified parts
  • Process flow and Process failure mode effect analysis
  • First article inspection
  • Understand and support procurement in QLTC demands/roadmap
  • Define, maintain and improve supplier interface processes, such as:
  • Issue resolution
  • Qualification deviation
  • ASML factory disturbances
  • Contribute to supplier development to improve operational excellence by driving execution of existing agreements, improvement actions, and participation in supplier audits. The SQE is part of the modelshop “Modelshop office” team and, therefore, interfaces with project leaders, design engineers, architects, manufacturing & customer support engineers, logistics, procurement, etc.
  • Support/lead project logistic (transport, goods receipt, kitting) process and alignment with realization.
  • Education

    BSc in mechanical engineering or relevant technical BSc

    Experience

    Broad experience in high tech development environment with a focus on supplier management, and outsourcing.

    Context of the position

    The holder of this position reports to the Team leader of the Modelshop Office within the EXE-Factory. Interfaces with Suppliers, Project leads Development, Customer Support, Manufacturing, Engineers and Procurement.
