About us

We are a diverse team within Fugro Innovation & Technology working on the interface between geophysics and geotechnics (with both geophysical and geotechnical experts on the team). We come from a variety of cultural backgrounds (Dutch, Australian Chinese, French and German), have a gender balance of 2 women and 6 men, ranging from fresh graduates to experienced engineers. We work on revolutionizing the world of geo-risk management by delivering better insight earlier in the asset cycle. Our projects are related to civil infrastructure and renewables in the energy sector.

The role

  • You apply principles of UX Design to create intuitive and engaging user experiences, considering the unique needs of our diverse user base, including business stakeholders and scientists;

  • You collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to align UI/UX development with business goals and customer feedback;

  • You design, develop, and maintain user interfaces using React or similar reactive UX framework, TypeScript, and JavaScript, ensuring code quality and maintainability;

  • You leverage NodeJS for scalable server-side scripting and API integrations;

  • You employ best practices in Git for version control and collaboration, with a keen understanding of GitHub actions and testing methodologies to maintain a high-quality codebase;

  • You work closely with AWS services to deploy and manage application infrastructure, optimizing for performance and scalability;

  • You utilize Yarn for package management and workflow enhancement.

  • Your track record

  • You have a strong background in UX Design, capable of translating business and user requirements into design decisions;

  • Proven experience in UI development, specifically with React programming, TypeScript, and JavaScript;

  • Solid understanding of NodeJS and its application in developing scalable applications;

  • Proficiency in Git and related best practices, with experience in GitHub actions and testing strategies to ensure code quality;

  • Familiarity with AWS and its services related to deploying and managing web applications;

  • Experience with Yarn for managing dependencies is highly desirable;

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including business executives and scientists;

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously as well as working as part of a team.
