Thermal Engineer

Job mission:

As a thermal engineer, your mission is to design, optimize and validate innovative thermal management solutions to ensure the performance of our cutting-edge devices. Your focus will be on maximizing heat dissipation efficiency, minimizing thermal gradients, and enhancing overall thermal performance to meet the requirements. You’ll work in cross-functional teams to integrate thermal solutions seamlessly into our products, driving advancements in efficiency and competitiveness in the industry. 

Your activities and responsibilities:

You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the thermal performance of our machines meets and exceeds expectations. Your responsibilities will include setting up and performing innovative thermal tests that not only validate requirements but also optimize resources and time constraints. Moreover, you’ll be adept at communicating with various stakeholders, forging win-win strategies to foster collaboration across teams.

Your daily tasks will include:

·Perform thermal analysis and testing processes, monitor system performance, and identify aspects that can be improved for greater efficiency.

·Translate specifications to a design, including test strategy and the necessary equipment

·Execute thermal tests in R&D lab environment, not limited to: using thermal chambers and thermocouples, setting up data collection instrumentation, testing in laminar flow conditions with gas and liquids at room temperatures

·Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance

·Report the study, design, and test activities in specific documentation

The thermal performance of our machines is pivotal in the roadmap of our product development. By joining our team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the next generation of our high-tech equipment, contributing to innovations that propel our industry forward.

Your profile:

·Master or PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering or similar

·You are an expert in thermal engineering and all facets of thermal testing for validation and qualification and have at least 3 years of engineering experience at a high-tech company

·You have affinity with thermal simulations, preferably in high vacuum conditions

·You have a hands-on mentality

Personal characteristics we are looking for:

·Self-propelled experimentalist. Ability to ask the follow-up question

·Good in time management and setting priorities

·Team player, analytical, pragmatic, creative and pro-active

·Good communication skills and proficient in English and preferably in Dutch

·Ambition for a broad personal development in the technology field
